Baltimore’s Top 5/Bottom 5 Saturday Morning Cartoons

Saturday morning was the only time I had complete control of the TV (we only had 1 TV while growing up) and could watch anything I wanted. So of course I got up at 7 or 8 in the morning and would watch cartoons uninterrupted until noon, flipping between the 3 channels we had to enjoy the animated madness.

BALTIMORE’S TOP 5 SATURDAY MORNING CARTOONS

Smurfs (1981)

My favorite all time cartoon. These friends were three apples high and always made me smile.

Super Friends (1980)

My first introduction to super heroes and I’ve never stopped loving them.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (1983)

My singular favorite hero and always had a great lesson to learn at the end of an episode.

Spiderman and his Amazing Friends (1981)

Dear to my heart – Spiderman and my first animated X-Men too!

Shirt Tales (1982)

This cartoon made me want to live in a tree with other woodland creatures.

BALTIMORE’S BOTTOM 5 SATURDAY MORNING CARTOONS

Garfield (1982)

Don’t like cats much and he was always so mean to Odie.

Gargoyles (1994)

Just never got into this series.

Richie Rich (1980)

Watched one episode, but never liked it.

Wile E. Coyote and The Road Runner (1971)

Alright series, but nothing different ever happened.

Snorks (1984)

Rip off of the Smurfs. Plus it competed with a cartoon that I liked more on a different channel.
